Other NoteThe exact birth date of William Barlow (Barloe) is unknown. He graduated B.A. from St John's College, Cambridge in 1584, and proceeded M.A. in 1587. He became a Fellow of Trinity Hall, Cambridge in 1590, and was awarded the degree of D.D. (incorporated at the University of Oxford) in 1601. in 1597, he was presented to the rectory of Orpington, Kent, and from 1597 to 1601 he was canon of St Paul's. In 1597-1606, Barlow also held the London rectory of St Dunstan-in-the-East. Barlow became dean of Chester in 1603 and rector of Southfleet in 1605. Finally, Barlow became bishop of Rochester and then bishop of Lincoln in 1605 and 1608, respectively, holding the latter bishopric until his death on 7 September 1613. He was buried at the parish church at Buckden, Huntingdonshire.
