DescriptionWritten on a separate small pamphlet slipped into the larger volume in a very clear, neat hand. On the back of the pamphlet is written in a different hand: "A funeral sermon preached by the Rev Thom. Whitaker". On the final page of the sermon in a third hand is written, "This funeral sermon was preached at Cal Lane Chapel on the occasion of the death of Mr John Darnton who died on the 1st May 1759". This is nearly four decades after the death of Whitaker, so we must assume was preached by someone else.
