Other NoteFollowing ordination in 1607, Williams was first rector at Foxcott, Bucks. (1608-12) before moving on to posts in London, where he preached at Paul's Cross in 1614. He held various appointments in Wales after 1616 but also preached in London. He was made dean of Bangor and archdeacon of Anglesey in 1634 and Bishop of Ossory in 1641. He supported the royalist cause throughout the 1640s and 1650s and was restored to his former posts at the Restoration. He printed a number of sermons in collections during his lifetime.
