Other NoteJohn More matriculated at Trinity College, Oxford, on 14 February 1667, aged 16. He was awarded B.A. in 1671. He was rector of Earl's Croome, Worcestershire, from 1684 until his resignation in 1701. According to P. Braby, the churchwardens of Earl's Croome did not regard More in a favourable light. Accusing him of non-residence and neglect, they stated the following: 'We are not satisfied to be served so by him. He is a continual goer to the ale-house and a very gross liver and doth call the parishioners knaves and rogues'. He began to associate himself with the Baptists c. 1695, and later joined them.
