Biographical Sources ConsultedAO (Foster); CCED (Person ID: 139810); notes attached to WYB263 produced by Norah Gurney (archivist at the Borthwick Institute of Historical Research, 1966)
Other NotePriest in Durham 1636/7. Gurney reports, “we have no record of him in the diocese until after the Restoration when he became Vicar of Bingley and minister of Luddenden; but he may have been in the West Riding earlier as a puritan”. CCEd indicates that he became vicar of Bingley, West Riding of Yorkshire in 1662 and may have held that position until 1710 (although this would make him very old at his death). CCEd also indicates that he preached throughout the diocese of York in 1662. This may also be the Jonathan Fairbank (Fairebanke) listed by AO (Foster) who matriculated from Brasenose College, Oxford in 1631 (at age 19) and graduated B.A. in 1634. CCEd indicates he was M.A. in 1662.
