Other NoteThomas Cromwell was born c. 1485 in Putney. He was the principal adviser to Henry VIII, and played a large part in establishing the English Reformation. He was accused of heresy and treason on 10 June 1540. Condemned without a trial, he was executed on Tower Hill on 28 July 1540.
