Other NoteRandle Holme III was born on 24 December 1627 into a family of herald-antiquarians and baptized on 30 December at St Mary's on the Hill, Chester. In 1656, he was steward to the Stationers' Company and alderman from 1659. In his fifties, he was employed as deputy herald for Chester, Lancashire, and North Wales. In 1688, he published several books of his Academie of Armorie. Holme died on 12 March 1700 and was buried at St Mary's on the Hill three days later.
