Other NoteThomas Jackson was born in Lancashire, c. 1570. He matriculated sizar at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, in Michaelmas 1589, graduating M.A. in 1600. From 1596 until 1614, he was curate of Wye, Kent. He was awarded the degree of B.D. in 1608. From 1611 until 1614, Jackson was vicar of Boughton Aluph, Kent. He became D.D. in 1615. Subsequent livings held by Jackson included Great Chart, St George's Canterbury, Milton, Chilham, and Ivychurch, all in Kent. He was also a prolific author and published numerous sermons. Jackson was buried at Canterbury Cathedral on 13 November 1646.
