Other NoteThe exact birth date of Aldrich Swan is unknown. He was baptised on 28 September 1673, the son of Aldrich Swan (1645-1714) and his wife Sarah. Swan was educated at Norwich School and was subsequently admitted pensioner, aged eighteen, at Peterhouse, Cambridge on 12 November 1691. He graduated B.A. in 1695/6. He served as curate at Minstead, Hampshire, before becoming rector of Kington Magna, Dorset in 1715, a living which he held until 1727. His brother Francis (1677-1740) held this living from 1727 until 1740; following which, it was returned to Aldrich until his death before 13 July 1749.
