Other NoteNewman was born in Banbury in 1602, to Richard Neman. He graduated from Trinity College in 1620 and took orders. He was prosecuted for nonconformity and emigrated in around 1636. He preached at Dorchester for two years, and then became pastor at Weymouth, a post he retained until 1643. In 1644 he moved with part of his church to Seconet, where they founded the town of Rehoboth, where he died in 1663. He produced a bible Concordance, first published in 1643 and refined over the following years. The second edition was published at Cambridge in 1662 and known as "the Cambridge Concordance". This concordance was the third published in England and eclipsed its predecessors, continuing to be reprinted as late as 1889.
