Other NoteJohn Rainolds was born on 29 September 1549, the fifth son of Richard Rainolds, a farmer. Rainolds graduated B.A. from Corpus Christi College, Oxford on 15 October 1568, proceeding M.A. on 14 July 1572. He was also awarded the degrees of B.D. on 24 June 1579 and D.D. on 14 June 1585. From 1594 until 1599, he served as dean of Lincoln. From 1598 until his death from consumption on 21 May 1607, he was President of Corpus Christi College, Oxford. Rainolds was buried in the chapel of his college on 25 May 1607; his will was proved on 19 June 1607.
