Other NoteSir Henry Lee was born in Kent in March 1533, the son of Sir Anthony Lee (1510/11-1549). At the age of fourteen, he entered the service of Henry VIII. On 2 October 1553, he was knighted by the Earl of Arundel. He married Anne, daughter of the statesman William Paget, on 21 May 1554. In 1571, Sir Henry Lee was appointed lieutenant of the royal manor of Woodstock; three years later, he became master of the leash. Lee became master of the armoury in 1580, supervising the accession-day tilts. Sir Henry Lee died on c. 12 February 1611, and was buried at Quarrendon, Buckinghamshire.
