Other NoteAndré De Coppet was an American broker. He was born in New York in 1892, and was educated at Princeton University. After the death of his father in 1916, he inherited a position in the family stock exchange firm, De Coppet & Doremus, and was a prominent figure in the New York Stock Exchange. Throughout the 1920s and 1930s, De Coppet collected European and American manuscripts, earning a reputation as one of the eminent American collectors of his generation. He died in 1953.
