Other NoteManuscript owner of LPL Sion L40.2/E94, identified by the ownership inscription "Christopher Ludlow, Bristol," and signature on f.2r and f.113v. Whether Ludlow was the original owner of the manuscript or a later owner is unclear; while the date "1803" is found on the front pastedown, the signature accompanying it is erased. There is no Christopher Ludlow in ACAD, AO, or CCEd. There are records of three Christopher Ludlows associated with Bristol whose dates render them possible owners: Christopher Ludlow, married Martha in 1757, residing in Bristol; Christopher Ludlow, baptized 1647, married to Anne Hellier in 1681, apothecary in Chipping Sodbury (14 miles from Bristol); and his grandson Christopher Ludlow (b. 1755), apothecary-surgeon, who fled to America in when his wife Elizabeth eloped with an officer and returned penniless to live out his days in Bristol, where he died in 1755.
