Other NoteThe exact date of birth of John Allin is unknown. Born c, 1596, he was admitted pensioner at Christ's College, Cambridge on 27 April 1612, aged sixteen. Allin graduated B.A. in 1617 and proceeded M.A. in 1620. He was ordained priest at Peterborough on 6 August 1620. Afterwards, he served as curate at Denton (Norfolk) and Wrentham (Suffolk). In the 1620s, Allin was instituted to the rectory of Saxlingham-juxta-mare in Norfolk. Allin migrated to America in 1637; in 1639, he became the chosen pastor of the church at Dedham, MA. He died at Dedham on 26 August 1671. Allin's sermon, The Spouse of Christ Coming out of affliction, was published posthumously in 1672 in Cambridge, MA.
