Contents NoteContains various writings and diaries by Sir Richard Cocks of Dumbleton, Gloucestershire. The sermons, written between 1694 and 1701, appear on ff. 96v-102v (written in reverse). Also contains theological, moral, and political essays, written 1683-1696 (ff. 1-17v, 32v-37, 40-6); prayers and devotional writings, written 1694-1701 (ff. 21v-26, 30v-32, 98-104v, the latter written in reverse); Cocks' charges while he was chairman of the Gloucestershire quarter sessions, 1694-1700 (ff. 27-30v, 39-40, 95v-94 rev., 80 rev.); notes related to the House of Commons, December 1698-May 1699 (ff. 93v-90 rev.); parliamentary diaries, 26 November 1699-February 1700 and 5 February 1700-24 June 1701 (ff. 5v-83, 79v-72v, 71-65 all rev.); and economic and political essays and memoranda, written c. 1699-1701 (ff. 90-86v rev., 82v-80v rev.).
Material Features104 leaves. Two volumes, originally intended account books, 1642 and c. 1660. The parchment wrappers are inscribed Randall Brisco. Liber Receptorum and are kept as Eng. hist. b. 210.
