Other NoteThe exact date of birth of Thomas Myriell (or Merrills) is not known. Born c. 1580, he matriculated sizar from Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, c. 1596. Myriell graduated B.A. in 1600/1. On 5 April 1601, he was ordained deacon in London; he was ordained priest eleven days later. Myriell was appointed rector of Cold Norton, Essex, in 1609. In 1616, he was instituted to the rectory of St Stephen's Walbrook. He also held the rectory of Shellow Bowells, Essex. He is remembered today as a music collector and scribe; see British Library, Add MSS 29372-7, and British Library, Add MS 29427.
