Contents NoteA collection of several manuscripts dating from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Contains theological notes (f. 25) including some sermons on 1 Timothy 1:15 and Romans 4:25. The sermons (ff. 33r-68v) were preached by Henry Fairfax (1588-1665) according to the Phillipps sale catalogue. The volume also includes "An account of the Turkish religion" (f. 1); a partial index for a work on Excise relating to wool (f. 19); notes in two hands in French, Italian, Latin, and English (f. 69); and a partial commentary on Bishop William Nicolson's English Library (London, 1697), seemingly by Bishop Thomas Tanner, as well as a list of manuscript and printed English historical texts which may by intended to supplement Nicolson's text (f. 81).

AcquisitionPurchased by the Bodleian at the Phillipps sale on 8 June 1898, lot 425. Forms part of Phillipps MS. 10322, "MSS. Fairfax & Wilkins, from Leeds Castle, Kent", which was purchased in 1831.
