DescriptionThis is a report of a sermon in praise of thieves and thieving. The title of the sermon is 'A sermon of P[ar]son Hyberdyne […] made att the com[m]andemente of certen theves aft[er] thay had robbed hym […]'. The sermon was not preached on any text in particular. Once the sermon was finished, the thieves 'gaue hy[m] his money agayne, that thay took frome hym, & iis to drynke for hys sermon' (f. 43v). The report is written in a standard sixteenth-century hand.

Other NoteThis is an unusual report of a sermon delivered at the request of thieves. Another example can be found in Forced Divinity, Or Two Sermons Preached by the Compulsion of Two sorts of Sinners (London, [1650?]). There is a possibility that these sermons may be apocryphal.
