M.A. (1648) from Clare College, Cambridge and fellow there beginning in 1645. Rector of Crayford, Kent beginning in 1650. Curate of Mortlake, Surrey, 1656-1661 (perhaps ejected). Thereafter assistant Samuel Clark at St Benet Fink, London until ejected in 1662. Pastor of Presbyterian/Independent congregation in Mortlake beginning in 1672. Co-pastor of Independent church at Leadenhall Street, London in 1682, and the lone pastor there after the death of co-pastor John Owen in 1683.
