Other NoteBorn at Knighton-on-Teme, Worcestershire to William and Mary Hill on an unknown date. Admitted pensioner of Emmanuel College, Cambridge in 1618. Matriculated later that year. BA, 1623; MA, 1626; BD, 1633. Ordained deacon and priest in 1629. While at Emmanuel, he was a regular preacher at St Andrew the Great. Instituted to rectory of Titchmarsh, Northamptonshire upon receiving his BD. Around this time he met and married Mary Willford, governess of the earl of Warwick's daughter, Lady Frances Rich. Appointed to advise the Lords committee on religious reform and member of the Westminster assembly in 1641. Between 1641 and 1644 he regularly preached at Westminster Abbey and St Martin-in-the-Fields. Preached sermons before parliament 1642-1644 which were published. In 1645 he was designated master of Emmanuel College, and then Trinity. In 1645/6, he was vice-chancellor and received his DD. Preached at Trinity's St Michael's Church and at All Saints. Died 18 December 1653.
