Material FeaturesOn the cover is written "Poor Janry. 2 1714" and "Easter 1719". On the inside leaf are two quotes from Proverbs, seemingly written in a different hand, the same as those of some of the re-preaching dates later in the manuscript. These sermon notes may have been reused by another preacher.

Other NotePart of the Methodist Archives, which in 1977 were combined with the John Rylands holdings. The Methodist Archive was originally held at City Road Chapel in London, where manuscripts relating to the family were collected from shortly after the death of John Wesley in 1791. Over a period of 175 years the collection was regularly augmented by private collectors including Russell J. Colman and Edmund Sykes Lamplough, with resent collection a composite of many deposits over the years.
