Contents NoteContains a funeral sermon by John Couraud (alias Corold) on John 11:5 (ff. 1r-10v) for his friend, Mr. Edward Stanley. Also includes a text containing a dying father's advice to his son, under the heading "These for my son [name cut out] to be delivered him when he shall come to some years of discretion", written 9 May 1662 (f. 1). The author's signature has also been cut out, but the cataloguer suggests that it is William Stanley, Sr. who is addressed in a preface to the sermon (f. 9r-v) and who is presumably a relative of Edward Stanley.
Material FeaturesPaper, quarto, 18 leaves. The sermon is written in a clear and elegant hand. The manuscript is not foliated, so contemporary pagination is referred to in this entry.
