Contents NoteContains copies of four sermons preached by Archbishop John Tillotson (ff. 1r-155r), as well as several shorthand sermons in Tillotson's hand c. 1680 and preached c. 1680-1693 (ff. 155v-250r). Another sermon, on Matthew 23:13, was once included in this volume but has been torn out (ff. 35-82 according to an old foliation). Also includes a copy of a letter written by Tillotson on the remonstrance of Charles, Duke of Shrewsbury, written c. 1680 (f. 252v). List of sermons on f. i.
Material FeaturesPaper, ii + 255 leaves, 7 x 4 5/8 inches. No writing on versos throughout the manuscript.The leaves containing the shorthand sermons have been damaged by damp. Someone has added a note regarding the shorthand sermons: "These sermons in Character are of Arch Bp Tillotsons own writing."
