Contents NoteVarious English manuscript documents, including what appears to be a copy of a printed text (f. 22), "The descouerie of A Gaping Gulf, wherinto England is like to be Swallowed by an other french Mariage," written by John Stubbes and published anonymously. The volume contains two sermons, on 2 Samuel 24:22 (ff. 16r-21r) and Isaiah 25 (ff. 117v-141r) by unidentified preachers. It also contains a letter from Sir Philip Sidney to Queen Elizabeth I discouraging her from getting married (f. 2), and a summary of "'Judge Crooke his Argument vpon Shipmooey" dated 1637.
Material FeaturesPaper, iii + 165 leaves, 6 x 3 7/8 inches. The texts are written in various hands, but both sermons appear to be written in the same hand.
