Other NoteSamuel Kem was both a clergyman and a soldier. He was a chaplain and soldier for the Parliamentarians during the the English Civil War, attaining the rank of major. However, he eventually became disillusioned and in 1660 published his King Solomon's Infallible Expedient for Three Kingdoms Settlement which called for a restoration of monarchy.
