Other NoteBaptized February 1599 at All Saints, Oxford, the son of Richard Lambe. Matriculated from Brasenose College in 1613; BA, 1615; MA from St Mary Hall, 1619. Chaplain to Thomas Wriothesley, fourth earl of Southampton who was influential in Lambe becoming rector of Botley, and subsequently Titchfield, both in Hampshire in 1639. Married Elizabeth Beeston in 1636, but they remained childless. Livings sequestered in 1647. During the interregnum he earned a reputation as an expert in oriental languages, particularly Arabic. Prebend of Westminster and DD in 1660 following the Restoration. Rector of St Andres, Holborn in 1663. Died 18 October 1664.
