Other Notefl. 1633. According to the associated sermon, this person was the nephew of Dr. John Lightfoot, rector of Ashley, Staffs in 1633. ACAD lists two Josiah Lightfoots, both of whom were clergymen who held posts in Ashley. The elder was curate of Ashley from 1631 to 1676, making him the more likely candidate. However, this attribution is complicated by the fact that John Lightfoot's ODNB article states that he had a younger brother named Josiah, who was also a clergyman.
