Other NoteThe exact birth date of Nathaniel Barry is unknown. The son of John Barry, Rector of Cottesmore, Rutland, he began his schooling at Dronfield, Derbyshire. He was admitted pensioner, aged fifteen, at St John's College, Cambridge, on 2 March 1631, although he appears to have left without a degree. Barry became lecturer of St Mildred's, Tenterden, Kent, in 1642, a post he held until 1654. In 1654, he became vicar of St Mary, Dover, but was ejected in 1661. He continued to preach in Dover throughout the 1660s. Barry died in 1675.
