Other NoteWishart was educated at the University of St Andrews and ordained 1625, becoming minister first at Monifieth and later St Andrews. In 1638, he fled to England, where he lectured intermittently before being imprisoned in Edinburgh after the Scots captured Newcastle in October 1644. He became vicar of St Andrew's Church, Newcastle after the Restoration and Bishop of Edinburgh in 1662.
