Other NoteLivingston was born in Monyabroch, Kilsyth, Stirlingshire, Scotland and attended the University of Glasgow (MA 1621). He was briefly assistant in Torphichen (1626-1627) and then chaplain to the earl and countess of Wigtown (1627-1630). For the next 10 years he resided mainly in Ireland before before returning to Scotland in the parish of Stranraer (1638). In 1648 he moved to the parish of Ancrum. After the Restoration, he left for Rotterdam, where he spent the remainder of his life.
