Other NoteDouglas was educated at the University of St Andrews (MA 1614). He became minister of Kirkcaldy in 1628; St. Giles, Edinburgh, 1639; and Tolbooth parish, Edinburgh, 1641. In 1662 he was removed from St. Giles to Greyfriars, Edinburgh, but was deprived for refusing to support episcopacy. In 1669 he was given the parish of Pencaitland, Haddingtonshire. Douglas died in February 1673/4 and was buried on February 6.
