Other NotePrecise date of birth unknown, but Ayers was admitted to St John's College, Cambridge in 1675 at age 20. B.A. (1678/9) St John's College. Ordained as a deacon in 1679/80 and as a priest in 1682/3. He is perhaps the Ayers mentioned by Joseph Keble as the preacher of a sermon at Gray's Inn in MS. Rawl. E. 209.
