Other NoteIdentified as "Mr. Cole, Sen." by Philip Henry, who took notes at one of his sermons in 1662 (DWL Ms. 91.26). Henry's diaries mention a Mr. Cole on several occasions, but a first name is never given. This does not appear to be Thomas Coles of Christ Church, whom Henry also mentions in his diary, but who does not seem to have had a son. Another possibility is Gilbert Cole (CCEd ID: 42794). CCEd suggests that there might have been multiple preachers with this name in Shropshire at the time of the associated sermons.
