B.A. (1655) and M.A. (1658) from Magdalen Hall. D.D. (1690) from Cambridge. Rector of St Peter, Paul's Wharf, London, 1660. Perhaps rector of Wrotham, Kent, 1662-1680. Rector of St Mildred Poultry and St Mary Colechurch, both in London, 1673-1696. Became chaplain to King William III c. 1689. Prebendary of St Paul's, beginning in 1683, and of Canterbury, beginning in 1692. Bishop of Chichester from 1696 until his death in 1706.
