Other NoteFl. 1646. In MS. don. g. 9, Jones is identified as the chaplain of Sir Marmaduke Rawdon and the preacher of his funeral sermon. Only one John Jones who was D.D. appears in any of the GEMMS biographical sources: John Jones (b. ca. 1610) in AO (Foster). This John Jones matriculated at Brasenose College in 1626 at age 16, received a B.A. (1628) and M.A. (1631) from Brasenose, and was created D.D. in 1642/3.
