Other NoteBorn in Flintshire ca. 1610 to Dr Henry Mostyn of Calcot Hall and his wife Ellin (maiden name not known). Matriculated and BA from Brasenose College, January 1629 (old). Received dispensation to be ordained and was appointed rector of Llanwern in 1636. In 1640 the House of Commons passed an order allowing Mostyn and several other ministers to preach throughout Wales. Moreover, they appointed him lecturer at Pennard, in West Glamorgan in 1642, leading to a conflict with the vicar there. Vicar of Wrexham, Denbighshire, 1659, vacated after the Restoration in 1661 for an earlier incumbent. Died in London December 1663 after a prolonged illness.
