Other NoteBorn at Hessle, Yorkshire, the son of Timothy Jackson, clerk, of Arksey. Schooled at Pocklington. Admitted at the age of 17 to St John's College, Cambridge on 2 November 1639 and graduated BA in 1645/6. Vicar of Doncaster, Yorkshire from 1648. He conformed at the Restoration and was reinstated. Rector of Sandal, Yorkshire from 1663 and of Rossington, Yorkshire from 1668 to 1690. His first wife, Magdalene, was buried 10 September 1667. His second wife was Elizabeth Armitage Burton, daughter of John Armitage and widow of Andrew Burton, m. 1669. He had two sons, John Jackson (Venn ID: JK665J2) and Nathaniel Jackson, born approximately 1651 and 1655 respectively. He was appointed master at Doncaster from 1666 to 1670. He was buried at Doncaster on 17 July 1690.
