Other NoteBorn in Kildwick in approximately 1638, son of John Jackson, husbandman, and schooled there. Date of birth unknown, but he was admitted to St John's College at the age of 16 on 19 May 1654. Gained his BA in 1657/8 and MA in 1662 from St John's. He was perhaps the schoolmaster at Austwick Clapham, Yorkshire in 1665. Rector of St Crux (York) in 1671 and All Saints'-in-the-Pavement (York) in 1676. Prebendary of York Minster (Prebend of Bilton) from 1697 until his death in 1701. It should be noted that AO (Foster) assigns these positions at St Crux, All Saints, and York to a Christopher Jackson (b. ca. 1651) who attended Trinity College, Oxford.
