Other NoteSon of John Brockbank of Hazelrigg near Cartmell, Lancashire, where he was baptised on 26 January 1620/1. Schooled at Urswick, Lancashire, he was admitted to St John's College, Cambridge on 23 May 1659. He was ordained at Chester on 21 December 1662, and as a priest on 20 December 1663. He was vicar of Beetham, Cumbria from 1664 to 1683, a preacher at Witherslack Chapel, Beetham in 1691, and Schoolmaster of Witherslack Chapelry School from 1684 to 1701. Appointed curate of Ingleton, West Riding of Yorkshire in 1667. He married Mary Willan, daughter of Thomas Willan of Casterton. He is the father of Thomas Brockbank (CCEd person ID: 44842)
