No information on his early life. BA fro Brasenose College, Feb., 1564/5; MA, 1567; BD, 1573. Rector of Nettlecombe, 1570-1579; of Sampford Brett, 1573-1578; of Streat with Walton, 1578, all in Somerset. Canon of Wells from 1574 until his death in 1579. Had a son called Gilbert.
