Other NoteODNB and AO both list clerics with the name John Angel with roughly contemporaneous careers. The one mentioned in AO seems to be the more likely candidate for this person, given his association with Corpus Christi. He was a scholar from Gloucester at Corpus Christi College in 1554; BA, 1557; MA and BD,1572. Possibly rector of Elingdon and Wroughton, Wiltshire in 1570. Prebend of Gloucester, 1571. Died 1577.
