Before that, he attended school at Drighlington, which is near Bradford in the West Riding of Yorkshire. B.A. (1727/8) and M.A. (1733) from Peterhouse. Vicar of Headingley, West Riding of Yorkshire, 1730-1732, and of St John the Evangelist, Leeds, from 1731 until his death in 1768.
