Other NoteBorn in London, the son of Philip Nye, the reverend of St Michael, Cornhill. Admitted to Emmanuel College, Cambridge on 3 July 1650. Migrated to Magdalen College, Oxford on 23 February 1653/3 after being married. Admitted to the Middle Temple on 10 February 1654/5, where he was clerk to the triers. He was ordained in 1661 and became vicar of Great Chishall, Cambridgeshire, then Quendon, Essex, then Rickling, Essex (1674-1688). He was the father of John Nye (b. 1666) and Stephen Nye (b. 1661). He died in 1686.
