Other NoteRobert Bagnall was born in Staffordshire in c. 1560. He matriculated at Magdalen Hall, Oxford, on 4 December 1584 and graduated B.A. from Balliol College on 4 July 1588. He was chaplain to Gervase Clifton, First Baron Clifton of Leighton Bromswold, County Huntingdon, presumably sometime after 1608 when Clifton had been raised to the Peerage. Bagnall was rector of Rode, Somersetshire from 1589 until 1616, and rector of Hutton, Somersetshire, from October 1616 until his death in 1638. His sole publication is The Stewards Last Accovnt (London, 1622; RSTC 1187), a collection of five sermons on Luke 16:1-2.
