Other NoteBorn 29 June 1566 to Sir Christopher Yelverton and Margaret Catesby of Easton Maudit, Northamptonshire. Possibly studying at Oxford for a time, he matriculated from Christ's College, Cambridge in 1581; BA from Peterhouse, 1584. Probably studied at Gray's Inn around this time, but there is no record of this. Called to the bar, 1593. Married Mary Beale, daughter of clerk of the council Robert Beale, ca. 1600. They lived in Easton Maudit and at Aldersgate when in London. MP for Northampton, 1597-1598, 1604-1611, 1614. Recorder of Northampton, 1599-1623. Solicitor-General and Knighthood in 1613. Counsel to University of Cambridge, 1614-1617. Attorney-General, 1617-1620. Justice, C.P., 1625-1630. Patron of Puritan preachers, publishing thirty-one puritan sermons as Certaine Godly and Learned Sermons (1605). Died 24 January 1630.
