Other NoteBaptised at Leeds 5 July 1636, the son of Abraham Dawson, clothier there. Matriculated from University College, Oxford 1652. He was then admitted into St John's College, Cambridge and graduated BA, 1657. Curate of Thornton, near Bradford, Yorkshire ca.1657 until ejection for nonconformity in 1662. Then moved around to Landimere, Northowram, Cross Stone, Sowerby, and Coley, Yorkshire. Licensed as a Presbyterian in Halifax and Birstall in 1672. After 1688 Act of Toleration, he became minister of Old Chapel, Morley, Yorkshire until his death 26 June 1709. The name of his wife is not known, but he had seven sons, 6 of whom became dissenting ministers.
