Other NoteJeannette Becker Lenygon was born in 1877. She was educated at Northwestern University, receiving a degree in decorating. She married Francis Henry Lenygon, a British architect, in 1926. In 1966, she was in charge of furnishing the new wing of Gracie Mansion, the official residence of the Mayor of New York. Lenygon was also Chairman of the National Committee on Historic Restoration of the American Institute of Interior Designers. In addition, she took part in the restoration of the White House in Washington, D. C during J. F. Kennedy's presidency. Lenygon died in a nursing home in Evanston, Illinois on 13 August 1977 at the age of 100.
