Other NoteGeoffrey King was born in London, c. 1567. He was educated at Eton and King's College Cambridge, gaining a B.A. degree in 1588 and proceeding M.A. in 1591 and B.D. in 1599. King was ordained deacon and priest in London in December 1595. He was also a Fellow of King's College for seventeen years. He was presented with the rectory of Edburton, Sussex, in 1602, a living which he held for four years. He became Vicar of Horsham, Sussex, in 1605. In 1607/8, he became Regius Professor of Hebrew at the University of Cambridge. During this time, King also became Vicar of Lancaster, a post he would hold until his death in 1630.
