Other NoteThe exact birth date of Samuel Walsall is unknown. He was admitted pensioner at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge in Easter 1589 at the age of fourteen. He graduated B.A. in 1592/3, proceeding M.A. in 1596. He was made a fellow of the College in 1596. He was also awarded the degree of B.D. in 1604 and D.D. in 1609. From 1608 until 1611, Walsall was vicar of Alkham, Kent. In 1609, he became vicar of Appledore, Kent. Subsequently, from 1611 until 1613, he was rector of St Mary Abchurch, London. He then held the living of Wilbraham Parva, Cambridgeshire. Finally, in 1616, he was master of Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, a position he held until his death on 31 July 1626. Walsall was buried at St Bene't's Church, Cambridge.
